Aquest estudi presenta un mètode de seguiment de tempestes i anàlisi del seu cicle de vida, desenvolupat per l’equip de teledetecció de l’SMC. El mètode combina dades radar i de llamps, considera les tempestes com a objectes i integra aquest informació en una única estructura per tal de fer de manera més correcta la identificació, el seguiment en el temps i la predicció a molt curt termini.

Manual per als observadors del Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya

Eina de consulta i de formació per al col·lectiu de col·laboradors de la Xarxa d’Observadors Meteorològics (XOM), editat amb la finalitat d’unificar els criteris que identifiquen els fenomens meteorològics i resoldre dubtes i ambigüitats comuns en la seva interpretació.El manual s’estructura en un conjunt de fitxes, una per a cada fenomen atmosfèric o gènere de núvol, amb la definició, consells per a l’observació i una fotografia il·lustrativa. Algunes fitxes inclouen també l’apartat “Per saber-ne més”, que conté explicacions més teòriques sobre meteorologia i climatologia. Al final de la publicació hi ha quadres d’identificació de l’alçada de les ones i de la força del vent, un espai bibliogràfic, una pàgina amb altres fenomens consignats als textos però que no disposen de fitxa pròpia,i un índex de fotografies amb la localització i la datació de cada imatge.
